the house

i put the house on the market last week, and on friday i got an offer. i knew the offer was coming... it was submitted by my friend, carolyn. (when a mutual friend of ours first told her i was leaving town, apparently carolyn's face fell and she said, "oh, how sad... wait, is her house for sale???")

i want carolyn to have the house, and she clearly wants to buy it. the negotiations are weird, though, because it's our agents who are communicating, and we haven't talked to each other about it at all. it's just pieces of paper flying back and forth between real estate offices, when i really just want to call her up directly and say, "carolyn, what the hell... let's just work this out ourselves and save a couple of trees."

not likely to happen, though. :)
