blips

unpacking is going pretty well. the bathroom is done, and the kitchen is almost complete. (I MISS MY GIANT PANTRY.)

the only major glitch in the moving-in process was that my queen-sized box spring would not go up the stairs to the bedroom. we even tried removing some trim to gain us another inch of clearance, but no luck. mary walked down the street to a mattress store and ordered a split box spring for me (two box springs the size of a queen size box spring) and though it didn't arrive immediately, it showed up first thing this morning. so yay. yay for spending more money.

we did some big box store shopping yesterday. spent more money on dumb things like trash cans and a vacuum cleaner. i'm scared to look at my checking account, but i think i need to do that as soon as i hit "publish post".

the car is currently at the shop getting the seat belt repaired, the windshield wipers replaced, and the faulty door lock diagnosed. i need to find a good detail shop, too, and get this car cleaned up. then i'll send the bills to the NM dealership and he'll reimburse me for the expenses. (i should insist he pay for pain & suffering, too.)

anyway, we're still doing well. unpacking, looking at cute boys, having FANTASTIC meals in my neighborhood. (at a tapas bar called 'colosso' last night.) mary leaves tomorrow afternoon, and i know i'm going to miss her company a lot.
