vacation's over

i guess it's been a while since i've taken a vacation for vacation's-sake. usually i travel for work or for family. i guess ray & i went to the beach for thanksgiving a couple of years ago; that was probably the last time i went somewhere simply to get away.

so this trip to sicily felt really, really good. i mean, really good. it was a wonderful adventure, and made me remember how much i enjoy getting out of this bleepin' country every once in a while. before this trip, i'd only been to korea and the netherlands. and canada, but that barely counts.

spending time in the mediterranean was just wonderful... landscape i'd never seen before. a volcano, lots of lava and rolling hills, ancient architecture, and amazing food. good god, the food.

it was a great time. the whole thing, from start to finish.

it was hard going back to work today, that's for sure.
