stuff-less
just got off the phone with my movers (north american van lines).
they're going to load up my stuff on monday, july 9.
i fly to portland on tuesday, july 17, after closing on my house the 16th.
based on the van lines' load date they can give me a range of delivery dates: july 18-23.
that's, like, potentially 2 weeks i'll be without my stuff. best case scenario is just 8 days being stuff-less.

If there's stuff you know you'll need for those two weeks, but can't carry on the plane, put it in boxes and UPS it to yourself in Oregon before you leave. Or prepare to shop!
Steel yourself for the possibility of not getting it when they say you will. It's not uncommon for there to be crazy hellish delays.
When it gets there in the time that they said you'll be pleasantly surprised.
You'll be OK.
"Best case scenario" is never a safe bet in the context of moving. I'm with Jenny, assume it'll be three weeks and prepare accordingly. At least find the nearest Goodwill so you can pick up a few necessities cheap during the delay.
When we moved here I lived for three weeks with just the stuff I could carry in/on my car. (Mark was stying behind for work and to handle the closing/moving.) A lot of the space in the car was taken up by one dog and two cats, so there wasn't much room for actual stuff. We had rolled up a futon and strapped it to the top of the car for the journey,and I had a couple of collapsible chairs, a very small folding table, my computer, some clothes and a boom box with a handful of cds. It was sort of fun, actually.
wow. well, if you get low on clothes, remember that you're okay at least once you get to the studio, since it's just radio, not tv. ;-)
