wide shoe warehouse

i made my last trip to my favorite shoe store yesterday, the wide shoe warehouse. i've been shopping there for years, and the staff always treats me like family. when i told them this would be my last visit, one of the cashiers actually cried.

i spent a long time hanging out and chatting (and trying on shoes, duh), just soaking up the good vibes. i talked with the store owner about his success (they're opening several more branches in north carolina right now) and tried to lure him into the portland market as well.

i walked out with two pairs of sensible sandals. good for walking the .75 miles to work each day. i hope open toed shoes aren't completely ridiculous in portland. if so, at least those shoes will hold fond memories of my last trip to the wide shoe warehouse.
