quickie

not a lot of time to post; the boy is on his way over here.

divaville has found its new home. info at divaville.org, appropriately enough.

i went to a rockin' farewell party for a co-worker last night, at a joint called the kennedy school. this local mcmenamin's family buys up local historic buildings (schools, hotels, etc.) and converts them into restaurants, bars and performance spaces. last night the farewell party was in the old renovated elementary school cafeteria. (it looked NOTHING like a cafeteria anymore.)

there was a show going on there simultaneously, that i caught a bit of: monsters of the accordion. good lord, the guy we saw was duckmandu; he wore a huge duck hat and played punk rock covers on the accordion (my jaw dropped at his rendition of "california uber alles"). this town is crazy.

went out for more drinks after the party with a co-worker of mine (the one, coincidentally, who helped me land the new divaville gig) and found a cool little bar in the mississippi area of town. i had a drink called an "argonaut", which was basically maker's mark and fresh-squeezed ginger juice. gawd, i thought i'd died and gone to heaven.

i'm finding, by the way, that my best on-air shifts are those that occur when i'm most hung-over and/or tired. go figure. i had a great shift today.

ok, gotta run. as much fun as i'm having here (and i'm having a lot of fun) i really miss you all. honestly.

sarah is continuing the divaville tradition at XDU. she's calling the sunday afternoon show "the divaville lounge", though. :)
