golf

i played golf today with a co-worker and her 75-year old friend. all three of us were at about the same skill level, which was nice. we keep loose score, and mostly just enjoyed ourselves, the course and the weather.

as you can see from the photo, it was a gorgeous setting. i know i'm not supposed to keep harping on this (there are people here who would have me killed for talking about it too much) but the climate in portland in the summer is simply exquisite. in north carolina there's no way a sensible human being would schedule a 1pm tee time in august and expect to survive heat stroke, but here the weather was perfect. if it was 80 degrees today, i'd be surprised. beautiful breeze, blue sky...

seriously, i'm in love with this weather. i know it'll turn gray in a couple of months, but that's ok. i'm soaking this up while i can.

Yeah, what she said--and we have three 100-degree days in the forecast, starting tomorrow. Yipes! Enjoy your newfound ability to go outside during daylight hours in August without bursting into flames.
