no dance for you

i was supposed to go see taylor 2 tonight. i had been going through some serious modern dance withdrawl, having left durham before the ADF season was finished this summer, so when free tickets presented themselves to me i jumped at the opportunity. tonight's venue seemed fucking cool, too. i was psyched.

but i feel like i've been fending off a bug since debauchery-day this past weekend, and since our pledge drive starts tomorrow i figured it might be best if i just came home and rested instead. i made a big pot of minestrone and caught up on some tivo.

it's 7:30pm. i'm going to try to call the boy (10:30am in kuala lumpur) and then go to bed. hopefully i'll wake up in the morning rarin' to go.

Sorry you missed Taylor 2, but it may warm your heart to know that modern marvel Shen Wei just won a MacArthur Foundation fellowship.

$500,000 in praise for doing beautiful things with beautiful music and beautiful people, often mostly naked. Dang -- he IS a genius!

What sort of things do they HAVE in Kuala Lampur? I mean, if I said "hey boyfriend, bring me a back a present" what sort of gift would be bring?
And if he brings you a present, I expect a picture of it.

well, there are the petronas twin towers. there are probably a million souvenirs featuring the two pointy buildings.

but in speaking with him, he talked of it being very tropical there... lots of hibiscus flowers, for instance. so maybe something flowery. dunno.

suffice to say, i didn't *ask* for anything. if he brings something back, i'll let you know. :)

If it ever comes up, you should ask for Salt and Pepper Shaker of those buildings.

That would rule.

Or, earrings.

And when people asked you could say "oh just something my boyfriend picked up in Kuala lampur"
